Chicago born artist Diana Postel has been painting and exhibiting for the past 40 years.  She began her training at The Art Institute of Chicago.  Ms. Postel received an M.A. degree in philosophy and literary criticism from the University of Chicago.  After moving to New York, she enjoyed a brief career in journalism and publishing at Newsday, The New York Herald Tribune, and Doubleday.

Following the birth of her two children, she resumed the study of art, training extensively with Norman Raeben, a student of Robert Henri and George Luks.  Several years ago, she moved her studio from Carnegie Hall to Northern Westchester and then to Aspen, Colorado. She currently resides and works in Santa Monica, California.

Her work has been exhibited in New York City, Westchester, Aspen, California and Russia, and is in private collections throughout the United States and Europe.

Ashland, Oregon artist Nathan Riddle says, “Ever since my first life drawing experience at Chico State in 1995 I’ve been pulled back to it over and over again.”  He adds, “There is something more than just the image of the model in every piece.  In my favorite works—the one’s I like to share—there is a balance of the model’s beauty, mood, my mood, and my feeling of connection to the beauty in the world at that particular time.”

Bohemia Gallery & Framing opened last October at 222 A Street in Ashland's historic Railroad District adjacent to Gathering Glass Studio.  Just six months after opening its doors, Bohemia is already a hot spot in the vibrant Ashland art scene.  The energy of the gallery and frame shop is the product of the two co-owners, Inger Jorgensen and Nicole Hurley.  Hurley says, “Our focus has been to bring new, exciting, and thoughtful works to Southern Oregon every month. We love to have the opportunity to show the best local and international artists in our gallery and we’re thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive response from the community.”
