About
Bohemia Gallery & Framing, a unique art gallery and frame shop, opened in September of 2006 in Ashland’s historic railroad district. Southern Oregon artists Inger Jorgensen and Nicole Hurley have combined their many years of business experience to create a warm, inviting atmosphere that celebrates the creative spirit.
In addition to expert framing, Bohemia Gallery offers a diverse array of unique and evocative art. The gallery includes a collection of fine art prints, original art, sculpture, and gifts, as well as a performance space for events, such as poetry readings, dance, live music, and creative workshops.
“Bohemia is the evolution of our artistic ideal and what we think a frame shop and gallery should be; a fun, professional place we would go to be inspired and indulged,” says Nicole. Inger adds, “We’ve created a sensual atmosphere that is soulful, eclectic and funky”.
Filled with rich colors, cozy furniture, an extensive frame selection, and innovative technology, the space certainly embodies their vision. Going beyond the typical frame shop, Bohemia will also offer custom shadowboxes and mirrors, museum quality framing, and even an eco-friendly line of materials. In addition to the extensive collection of in-stock artwork, Bohemia also allows the customer to sit at a café style kiosk and browse thousands of prints in a computerized gallery.
Inger and Nicole integrate state of the art equipment and high quality materials with their many years of design experience. This technology enables them to spend more time with the client, while yielding a more precise, higher quality product without additional cost to the customer. Innovative software allows the customer to view their artwork “virtually framed” on a 50” plasma screen television. “Often in custom framing there is a leap of faith for the client between the concept of the design and the final product. This technology bridges that gap,” explains Nicole.
