Adele Eustis

Nationally known, Seattle based painter Adele Eustis believes the job of the artist is to take the time to stop and observe. “I work,” she says, “with a quick momentary reaction. Sometimes I see the idea in my peripheral vision.”   “The edges of the moment,” she continues, “are where the air, the form, and the feeling become one composition.”  In her landscapes, trees dominate—and these, she says, are both figurative and symbolic.  She strives to understand the traditions of painting and, “to understand the nature of different pigments the way a cook learns spices.”  By the look of things she has created quite a visual feast with this show
